About Me
Hi, I'm Jamie Heeke (pronounced "Hee-kee"), the photographer behind Jamie Heeke Photography.
I picked up my first camera in 2014, mostly self taught at first, studying and practicing when I could. A few years in, I went looking for a mentor who could teach me weddings specifically, because I wanted to get it right, not just wing it. Now I primarily photograph weddings and events, along with engagements, bridal boudoir, seniors and grads, family sessions, and headshots. Mostly around Evansville, but I'll travel into Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Ohio, and Missouri too.
If you've ever said "I'm awkward in photos," I've probably heard that exact sentence a hundred times. My whole approach is built around it. I'll tell you what to do so you're never standing there guessing, and I'll get out of the way the second something real is happening in front of me.
Outside of work, I'm probably outside, period. I spend a lot of time in nature, at concerts, thrifting, or hanging out with my pets. Nothing fancy, just the stuff that keeps me steady between sessions.
